About Victor H Royer
I live in Las Vegas, where for many years I was a professional player of casino games. Early into the 1990's the games and rules changed, and I was offered an opportunity to become a consultant to the casinos themselves, and what became known as the Gaming Industry. Throughout the 1990's I worked mainly as a consultant to casinos, gaming resort operators, and to gaming machine manufacturers. I visited every casino in the United States, and created numerous profiles of the casino games and the gaming industry.
By the end of the 20th century, I decided to concentrate more on writing. It seemed to me that I had a lot of knowledge and information to share with people about the casino games and casino gaming, and environment, philosophy, and lifestyle. My first book, published in 1994, was still very popular, and I therefore considered writing more books about the games I played, and the casino business I knew so well. Eventually my Agents found a Publisher, and over the past several years have written many new books about casino games and gaming -- 22 books total thus far. You can see a list of my currently available titles on the Home page of this website.
Vegas Vic
My nickname is Vegas Vic. I was named after the famous Neon Cowboy, in Downtown Las Vegas. Most people who know me in and around Las Vegas call me by that nickname, which I happen to like. There are many other people who also use this nickname, but I like to believe I was the first -- or rather the second, after that Neon Cowboy -- to be so honored by such a great nickname.
There are many different biographies about me on the Web, and they are all pretty much correct. I have had quite a life, spanning the globe, and have been part of many great events in history. I now enjoy a much quieter life, concentrating mostly on my consulting business, writing, and playing poker.
Photo Gallery and Events
Here is a gallery of some photos and events I attended. Some of these are from my various book signings. As you may notice, the quality of some of these photos is not great. They were taken with a normal film camera and not a very good flash, and then scanned, so the resolution is a little low. But at least they can be viewed, which is half the battle.
As for me, well, you may have noticed that I got a little pudgy in these pictures. Too much good food, and too many years of sitting behind my desk writing books. I have since then lost 40 lbs, and so I am now much leaner. Also, older, but that's another thing altogether. I also don't wear the mustache anymore. And, in case you were wondering, when I go to casinos, I make sure I look nothing like any of these photos, and that's because when I play, I like to play, and do so quietly, without being recognized.
With Howie Mandel at the Gaming Convention in Las Vegas 2010
So here I am hobnobbing again with the stars. Ehm, shameless plug, for sure. Howie was a gracious host, and the Deal or No Deal girls were just as nice as they always are on the TV show. Here we were introducing a new community-style slot machine from Spielo-Atronic, based on the TV game show. We all got to play the game live, with Howie and the girls, and also played the great new slot machine game, which plays just like the TV show. It was a lot of fun!
This is a photo from the Gaming Convention in Las Vegas 2009
As you can see, I am with a certain young lady whose first name is usually associated with the name of a famous European city, such as "Paris", and her last name is usually associated with a major hotel chain, such as in "Hilton". Of course we will never know who this young lady actually is, or was, but then it is Las Vegas, isn't it? And what happens in Las Vegas, stays in Las Vegas, right? So, let's all dream on .....
My Other Photos
On a much less glamorous note, the pictures below are from various events, and book signings.
I would like to thank the folks at Cartamundi for making for me a special deck of cards. I met their representative at the G2E Gaming Convention in Las Vegas, and I asked him if I could get a deck of special cards made. He was immediately helpful, emailed the company, and in less than a week after the convention ended, I received two decks of cards. One was my special deck, and the other was just like the ones in the picture on the left.
I don't know if the good folks at Caratamundi would want me to mention names, but I am thankful to Mr. V and Mr. K for getting this orgamized. And, if you would like to have a great deck of cards for your games at home, you can contact these great people at:
www.cartamundiusa.com Just tell them Vegas Vic sent you.
From time to time -- as I have more photos and more news -- I will add it to these pages, or perhaps to my Blog, or the main Home page, depending on what the event may be. I hope you will visit back soon, and check out what else I have been up to lately. Thank you for visiting my web pages!
